HURON, S.D. — Huron School District 2-2’s board of education has reversed a policy that required the district’s vehicles to be driven 10 mph slower than the posted speed limit, The Associated Press (AP) reported.
Ross Opsal, Huron School District 2-2’s superintendent, told the AP that the policy is being rescinded for safety reasons. For school bus drivers, driving slower reportedly resulted in many motorists driving around the buses, or traffic becoming backed up behind the buses.
