Plug in your headphones, connect your earbuds, or turn up your speaker! July 18 is World Listening Day. World Listening Day gives us a chance to celebrate the sounds of the world around us.
The annual day is set on July 18 because it is the birthday of Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer, one of the founders of the Acoustic Ecology movement, which studies the relationships and interactions among humans and sounds in an environment.
