Bus driver charged for having gun on school grounds
Wayne Lindsay is guilty of a felony for leaving his gun in his car parked at a school while he drove his bus. His permit to carry a concealed weapon has been seized and he has been suspended from his duties at a North Carolina district while the incident is investigated.
KING, N.C. — A school bus driver for Stokes County Schools has been charged with a felony for having a weapon on school grounds.
Stewart Hobbs, superintendent for the district, told WFMY News 2 that the driver, Wayne Lindsay, has a permit to carry a concealed weapon. He parked his car at one of the district’s schools with the gun inside while he drove his bus, and someone alerted school officials that Lindsay had a gun in his car.
Lindsay has been suspended from his duties at Stokes County Schools while the county sheriff’s department investigates the incident. His gun permit has also been seized, WFMY News 2 reports.
