BREMERTON, Wash. — In an effort to better communicate with one of his students, a bus driver for a local school district is learning sign language. The driver began taking classes two years ago after meeting the (now) 5-year-old girl when she boarded his bus en route to a deaf and hard-of-hearing program at an elementary school. In-bus advertising sparks war of words
SAGINAW, Mich. — Last week the owner of a Pennsylvania-based ad company claimed he suspended contracts with six local school districts after a police sergeant allegedly threatened to "red tag" all buses with the interior advertising. A police spokeswoman contested the man’s claim, and said that the company falsely told school officials that the sergeant endorsed the company. To read the full story, click here.
Young girl is victim of alleged assault
BROCKTON, Mass. — Last Wednesday a 4-year-old girl was allegedly indecently assaulted by another girl as the two students were traveling home from a local school. As a result, a school official called for a state mandate that every bus has a security camera and that funding be made available for monitors.
