Boy found after bus stop abduction
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A 7-year-old abducted from a school bus stop here was located by detectives about 250 miles away in Las Vegas.
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A 7-year-old abducted from a school bus stop here was located by detectives about 250 miles away in Las Vegas.
Witnesses said that Eduardo Rivera was waiting for his school bus on Jan. 9 when two men grabbed him, put him in a waiting car and drove away. Police located that vehicle abandoned nearby and learned that the men transferred the boy to a second vehicle.
The next day, police and FBI agents followed leads to a residence in Las Vegas, where they found Rivera. The youth was unharmed, and authorities returned him to California and put him in the custody of Child Protective Services.
Several people at the residence were questioned, and two men were arrested in connection with the abduction. Police said that at least one of the men appeared to be an acquaintance of Rivera’s father.
Rivera was last residing with a foster family in Riverside. Both his father and mother are incarcerated.
