MACON, Ga. — Blue Bird Corp. recently presented its 2014 Supplier Awards here during its annual Supplier Conference.
With over 390 production suppliers, the company recognized 10 distinguished suppliers for their commitment to quality, innovation, service and timely delivery. The suppliers were also awarded for their alignment with Blue Bird’s corporate culture, which fosters teamwork, innovation, integrity and tenacity.
Blue Bird’s 2014 Supplier of the Year award was presented to Bendix Commercial Systems, a supplier of multiple Blue Bird brake offerings. Bendix’s dedication to innovation and technology contributed to the success of the product launch, Blue Bird officials said.
“Bendix is truly honored and very proud to receive this year’s Supplier of the Year award from Blue Bird Corporation,” said Scott Burkhart, vice president of sales, marketing and business development for Bendix. “We value our collaboration, and we share the same common corporate values. Working together, we deliver innovation, quality, reliability and performance for the products and services that are a part of every Blue Bird bus. We look forward to what the future has in store.”
Winners of Blue Bird’s 2014 Outstanding Supplier award are:
• Chicago Expert Importers
• Cummins Inc.
• Dana Holding Corp.
• Hankook Tire America Inc.
• HSM Transportation Solutions
• Quality Drive Away Inc.
• Roller Die and Forming
• Roush CleanTech

“Blue Bird is proud to recognize these 10 outstanding suppliers,” said Dave Whelan, senior vice president of supply chain. “Throughout 2014, these suppliers provided superior performance that strengthened Blue Bird’s ability to deliver the company’s four priorities — safety, quality, durability and serviceability. Blue Bird is privileged to have an exceptional supplier base, and we look forward to 2015 as we continue to gain market share and provide our customers with industry-leading buses.”
