1.  Forrest Gump
While sitting on a park bench, Forrest recalls the bus ride on his first day of school. Through a series of flashbacks, we see him introduce himself to his school bus driver and struggle to find a seat on the bus. Jenny shows Forrest some kindness, inviting him to sit next to her, and they strike up a conversation, which he says leads to them being “always together. Jenny and me was like peas and carrots.”

2.  Napoleon Dynamite
Napoleon Dynamite, a listless and alienated teenager living in Idaho, decides to help his new friend win class presidency, while he must deal with his bizarre family life back home. Napoleon begins his day taking the bus to school and issues one of his catch phrases: “Gosh!”

3.Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
After a day spent trying to prove wily teenager Ferris Bueller’s truancy, a day that included being attacked by a dog and falling into a mud puddle, Principal Ed Rooney is doggedly wandering the suburban neighborhood when a school bus driver recognizes him and picks him up. RIP, John Hughes.

4.  The Fugitive
Harrison Ford, playing the title character, makes a spectacularly dramatic emergency exit from a school bus turned prisoner transport bus.

5. The Dark Knight
Leave it to the Joker to corrupt the venerable school bus. In this scene, Batman’s archnemesis uses a big yellow bus (so much for being inconspicuous) as his getaway vehicle in a bank robbery.

6.Billy Madison
The late, great Chris Farley struggles to contain his wrath as a bus driver under fire in this Adam Sandler comedy.
