BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio — A second Cleveland-area motorist has been cited by police for driving on a sidewalk to pass stopped school buses, Fox 8 reports.
The first case involved Shena Hardin, whose bus-passing violation and subsequent punishment were well publicized.
The second case involves Nancy Yachanin, who committed a similar violation at Broadview Heights Middle School on Nov. 15, according to Fox 8.
Investigators say that Yachanin pulled into a parking spot in front of the school to pick up her daughter, and when her SUV was blocked in by a line of school buses, she drove down a sidewalk to get around them.
One of the drivers took down Yachanin’s license plate number and when police contacted her, she admitted what she had done and was cited for careless operation in willful disregard for public safety.
