ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County Public Schools prepared its school bus drivers, monitors and support staff for the new school year with its annual fall training conference.
More than 1,600 employees took part in the event, which was held over two days at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
Among the topics covered were student discipline, bullying, customer service, safe driving strategies, special-needs student management and safe stops.
Drivers and monitors will complete the week with prepping their buses, calling parents to confirm pickups and making dry runs.
Orange County Public Schools expects to transport about 72,000 kids on opening day, which is next Monday.
