Judge: Fatal crash points to 'deficiencies' in bus safety, driver training

Alberta Provincial Court Judge Bruce Fraser says as much, and makes recommendations about these issues, in his report on an October 2007 school bus accident that killed a 9-year-old girl. Sleeping pills and anti-depressants were at low levels in bus driver Louise Rogers' system on the day of the accident.

A 10-year-old girl is killed in a collision on Friday between the bus and a tractor-trailer on a Mississippi highway. Authorities say it appears that the bus stopped at a stop sign, then pulled onto the highway in front of the truck.

Police respond to a call in which two batteries from each of 10 Portsmouth (Va.) Public Schools buses were pulled and cut from the cables. The suspect in the incident has been charged with grand larceny, larceny with the intent to sell and destruction of property over $1,000.

Bus drivers arrested for allegedly obtaining licenses using aliases

George Gregory Gonsalves and Emel Enrique Marin each had a valid commercial driver's license in one name and a suspended license in another. They have been charged with offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree and falsifying business records in the second degree.
