Crossing arms mandated on new school buses in Minn.

All Minnesota school buses built after Jan. 1 of next year will have to be equipped with crossing arms, which deter kids from crossing too close to the front of the bus. Teen guilty of misdemeanor for bus theft

A boy who allegedly stole a school bus from one yard and drove it to another of the bus company's terminals last month is found guilty of an amended charge of driving a vehicle without consent. The boy reportedly broke into the company's office and stole the bus keys.

Guangdong Tongan Automobile Rental Service's 16 buses reportedly meet the country's new safety and technical standard for school buses, and the number of buses is expected to grow to 1,000 by the end of the year. Bill would create stopping requirements for school vans

Under the Pennsylvania legislation, school van drivers would need to activate the vehicle’s four-way flashers at least 100 feet before stopping, or at least 300 feet when traveling more than 35 mph. Other vehicles could not pass the van when children are boarding or exiting.
