First Student wins Ohio, Michigan contracts

Under a three-year agreement, the contractor will serve Columbus City Schools beginning July 1, operating more than 270 of the district’s routes. The company’s three-year contract with Oak Park Schools will begin with the 2010-11 school year. It will provide regular and special-education busing for students.

Thomas Built Buses founder to be honored

On Friday, Perley A. Thomas will be inducted into the North America Railway Hall of Fame. Thomas opened a streetcar manufacturing company, Perley A. Thomas Car Works, in 1916, which began manufacturing school buses 20 years later.
