Calif. bill aims to allow more funds for special-needs busing

The Warriors in the Workplace organization debuted at the National Association for Pupil Transportation Summit last week, informing attendees of its initiative to help U.S. military members get back to work in the civilian sector — specifically the pupil transportation industry. Zonar, NAPT award $50K equipment grant

The Transportation Joint Agreement operating at Crystal Lake (Ill.) School Districts 47 and 155 receives the grant at the 2012 NAPT Summit. Officials say the money will be used to outfit school buses with a combination of Zonar’s Electronic Vehicle Inspection Report, V3 telematics platform and ZPass.

Calif. district extends busing through 2nd semester

School bus service to geographically remote areas will continue through the end of the school year at Lake Elsinore Unified School District. The board had earlier approved temporary bus service, for the first semester, for nearly 2,200 students who live in remote areas.

Denver bus driver comes to rescue of stranded motorist

On a night of fierce 60 mph winds, a large sign blew into Doug Hoffacker's car on the freeway. Veteran school bus driver Susan Munoz blocked traffic from the disabled car, contacted emergency personnel and went to check on Hoffacker.
