Troy Clarke, currently Navistar's president and chief operating officer, will become president and CEO and will join the company's board in April. Lewis Campbell, who has served as executive chairman and interim CEO since August 2012, will step down from those positions and from the board.

Driver who hit boy while passing bus avoids jail

A judge in Pennsylvania declines a prosecutor's suggestion that jail time "might be appropriate," sentencing the 62-year-old woman instead to community service and probation. The 5-year-old boy's skull was fractured when he was clipped by the woman's car as she illegally passed his bus.

President of W.L. Roenigk Inc. passes away

William L. Roenigk Jr., who was also owner of the Pennsylvania-based company, succumbed to his battle with leukemia on Saturday at the age of 57. Roenigk’s father founded the company, and he began working for it after graduating from high school in 1973.

Student tracking app aims to increase reimbursements

With the Patron Attendance and Tracking Solution, created by Kevin McGuire of Michigan City (Ind.) Area Schools, bus personnel select students' photos on a tablet as they board or exit the bus. After fully implementing the app on its special-needs buses, the district expects a 20% increase in Medicaid reimbursements.

First Blue Bird redesigned All Americans delivered in Georgia

Ten of the manufacturer's 2014 All American buses are delivered on Wednesday to the state’s Department of Corrections, where officials say they will be placed into service immediately, replacing buses in the existing fleet that have each accumulated over 300,000 miles. The buses can seat 50 passengers, and they feature pass-through luggage compartments and interior storage bins.
