Propane industry launches new brand, tagline

The Propane Education & Research Council’s new brand identity for propane is PROPANE Clean American Energy. The new logo, anchored by the iconic image of an American bald eagle, highlights propane as an increasingly American-made alternative fuel at a time when U.S. propane production from natural gas liquids is at record levels, council officials said.

Clinton Global Initiative partner wins grant to build electric school buses

The Commissioners of the California Energy Commission approved a grant to National Strategies for $1.4 million for an all electric school bus demonstration program in California. Coupled with a previous grant, the total of $2.2 million will lead to the development of six buses that will be deployed in Torrance Unified School District, Kings Canyon Unified School District and Napa Valley Unified School District.

Nebraska school’s propane bus investment pays off

Omaha Public Schools and Student Transportation Inc. (STI) collaborated on the district’s deployment of 435 Blue Bird Vision propane school buses last summer, which has saved approximately $200,000 versus diesel. In a new video released last week by the Propane Education & Research Council, school officials and the contractor explain the convenience of maintenance, cost savings, and performance of the buses in the state’s frigid winters.
