SBF Picks: Products That Caught Our Eye

Wash Underneath the Bus with Ease

Express Pressure Washers

The Mosmatic Hurricane Flip can be used as surface cleaner and underbody wash, all in one unit. Thanks to its low profile, buses do not need to be lifted onto a platform for cleaning. Check out Express Pressure Washers' video showing how easy it is to use the Hurricane Flip attachment with a pressure washer. The video highlights the performance of the Hurricane Flip’s rotating wash disc, which includes one rotating arm equipped with two spray tips. The Hurricane Flip is time-saving, cost-efficient, and can be operated with cold and hot water.

Don’t Let Loose Ends Slow You Down

IMI

Launched in late 2024, IMI’s LUG LINX Wheel Safety System provides a wider safety window to enable identification and maintenance of impending wheel detachment or damage. Its point-to-point pattern accurately detects lug-nut movement, allowing the driver to easily identify which need retorquing. Available in standard or high temp options, the LUG LINX Standard melts at 248°F, while the LUG LINX High Temp handles temperatures up to 302°F, a crucial distinction for school buses, where frequent stop-start conditions can elevate wheel temperatures.

Making Big Tires Easy to Change

Hunter Engineering

Recommended by SBF editorial advisory board member Teri Mapengo from Prosper ISD, Hunter Engineering’s TCX635HD tire changer easily handles school bus tires with none of the fatigue or safety risk of bars and hammers. The durable, heavy-duty model includes a tulip-style wheel clamps, roller demounting, standard hook, and safe controls, with 14.5 to 24.5-inch rim diameter, 58-inch maximum tire diameter, and 27-inch maximum width. The TCX635HD brings plenty of power and speed to change even the most difficult HD truck tires easily and safely.

BendPak’s New Wheel Balancer

BendPak

The new RB30T wheel balancer from Ranger Division of BendPak was engineered to take on the biggest, heaviest bus and truck assemblies. Features like the integrated pneumatic wheel lift handles the heavy lifting, improving ergonomics and reducing risk of injuries. For mixed fleet applications, in one push of a button, technicians can move from heavy-duty assemblies to light-duty applications. With a maximum capacity of 330 pounds, tire diameters up to 49.25 inches and widths up to 20 inches, the RB30T is strong enough to handle heavy duty tires but with the instrument precision of a light duty wheel balancer.

JPRO Gets an Upgrade

Noregon

In December, Noregon updated its JPRO Professional v3, introducing new diagnostic features and coverage. This release introduces CAN Bus Diagnostics, enabling technicians to view voltage and resistance readings directly in the software, rather than using traditional hardware such as multimeters or oscilloscopes. This technology enables CAN-related fault alerts, including short circuits. Users can graph live CAN voltage readings to detect patterns of interference or grounding problems.

BESI Inc.

Damp Check, available in the BESI, Inc. product line, gives fleets a simple, proactive way to fight one of the biggest contributors to vehicle deterioration: moisture. Designed to actively capture humidity inside the bus, it helps reduce condensation on windows, seats, flooring, and metal components where damp conditions can linger. By keeping interiors drier, Damp Check helps limit the environment that allows rust to form and spread, supporting existing coatings, finishes, and maintenance practices. While not a substitute for traditional rust-proofing treatments, Damp Check is an easy, cost-effective addition to any preventative maintenance program.
