Fleetio announced the expansion of its Maintenance Shop Network into Canada, giving school districts and student transportation providers access to a nationwide network of vetted repair partners for the first time.
The move addresses ongoing challenges in coordinating timely repairs, accessing reliable service vendors, and maintaining accurate maintenance records—all critical factors in keeping buses safely on the road and reducing downtime during the school year.
Features for School Transportation Fleets
Through the Maintenance Shop Network, Canadian fleets gain access to real-time repair tracking, automated approvals, and streamlined payment processes. The network also connects Canadian maintenance providers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with fleet customers, creating stronger service partnerships that help ensure operational reliability.
Key Benefits for School Bus Operations
Faster Repairs and Approvals: Fleets save an average of 17 minutes per transaction through automated approvals and quicker scheduling. Routine maintenance can be auto-approved, while larger repairs are flagged for review.
Verified Vendor Network: Thousands of repair shops—ranging from local mechanics to national service providers—have been vetted for consistent quality and reliability across the U.S. and Canada.
Improved Budget Oversight: Centralized repair and spend data help transportation departments manage maintenance budgets, prevent unnecessary work, and plan service schedules more efficiently.
Accurate Maintenance Data: Detailed digital records of labor, parts, and repair vendors ensure transparency and improve forecasting for future maintenance needs.
Integration with Auto Integrate
Fleetio’s earlier acquisition of Auto Integrate, a maintenance authorization platform, further enhances the system’s capabilities. The integration allows repair shops to electronically submit repair orders for approval — streamlining the process, reducing downtime, and improving data accuracy for transportation managers.
Strengthening Transportation Infrastructure
“Expanding Fleetio’s Maintenance Shop Network into Canada meets a growing demand among school and government fleets,” said Miles Rand, director of product management, marketplace at Fleetio. “This expansion gives transportation teams greater visibility around approvals and cost controls, helping reduce unwanted spending and improve reliability.”
