Do you know a hero behind the school bus? Tell us about them!
We're thrilled to launch of the first-ever School Bus Driver Hero Award! We're on the lookout for incredible drivers who go above and beyond to keep students safe and make a real difference every day through heroic actions that inspire and make communities great.
Watch as our editor shares more in this video about it:
One inspirational driver will be interviewed by SBF editors and profiled in our magazine and website. They’ll also be celebrated at SBFX in September, where their supervisor or transportation director is invited to attend for free.
Shout out to the award sponsor AngelTrax for their support of this award and being a champion for school bus safety.
Criteria
Nominees must be a currently employed school bus driver in North America for one year or more. School district and contractor drivers are both welcome. No CDL required!
Nominations are already rolling in, so don't be left out. Don’t wait too long, though!
Nominations close June 30, 2025.
How to Make Your Nomination Stand Out
Tell us as much as you can about what exactly makes your driver special; we want as many details as you can give us. The more you share, the better.
We're looking for details on driver history, what their students and colleagues say, specific stories of how they rise above to keep going, even in the face of challenges, and examples of situations where they stepped up when others may not have done the same.
Take some time to write a thorough, compelling story that we can’t overlook!
