School Bus Fleet and its parent company Bobit announces an exciting change to its editorial team and welcomes back Amanda Huggett in the role of executive editor.
Huggett is not new to covering student transportation, and if her name sounds familiar, it’s for good reason. She was previously managing editor for Bobit’s fleet group, covering School Bus Fleet, Auto Rental News, Automotive Fleet and others.
She brings a wealth of previous journalism and communications experiences in other industries, serving in roles at newspapers, a casino industry trade magazine, chamber of commerce, and a non-profit cat shelter.
Huggett will be responsible for leading the editorial vision of School Bus Fleet, creating content across multiple platforms, collaborating closely with the fleet, trucking & transportation publisher, account executives, audience development and events teams, staying abreast of school bus industry trends for original reporting, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, readers and experts.
“With an impressive background in digital, social, and print media, I am so pleased to welcome Amanda Huggett as the new executive editor of School Bus Fleet,” said SBF Publisher George Brennan. “We are excited to have Amanda at the wheel of our content bus, driving the ever-evolving vision and content strategy of this rapidly expanding media and event brand. Having previously worked for Bobit and School Bus Fleet, Amanda’s passion and enthusiasm for rejoining the pupil transportation market is palpable. I am confident that the industry will embrace Amanda’s professional, approachable, and compassionate style of editorial leadership as she begins her ‘new route’ with School Bus Fleet.”
“I am so excited to be back at Bobit and covering the pupil transportation industry again,” Huggett said. “This is a familiar and a very beloved space for me, where I learned the ropes from former editors Nicole Schlosser and Wes Platt. As I settle into this role, I am soaking up every bit of knowledge that I can, looking to your experiences and perspectives to shape the content that we deliver every day. I promise to honor the rich history that SBF boasts and to build on it, and I can’t wait to meet more of you to learn what gets you up in the morning and what keeps you up at night.”
Huggett encourages readers and industry professionals to reach out to her anytime to talk shop, share insight and feedback, or offer a suggestion. She can be reached at amanda.huggett@bobit.com.
