NASDPTS Releases Preliminary Conference Schedule

Attendees to the first National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services in-person annual meeting since the start of the COVID pandemic can expect general and breakout sessions, a supplier showcase, a membership meeting, and a couple of offsite dinners. The event runs Oct. 27-31 in Pentagon City.

Agencies invited to present include the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE).

Conference topics will range from electric buses to the school bus driver shortage and successes in entry-level driver training.

According to the NASDPTS event registration website, the preliminary schedule includes:

Thursday, Oct. 27

  • Board of directors meeting.
  • First-time attendee orientation.
  • New state director orientation.
  • Offsite dinner sponsored by SafeFleet/Seon.

Friday, Oct. 28

  • General sessions.
  • Offsite dinner sponsored by Thomas Built Buses.

Saturday, Oct. 29

  • General session.
  • Annual membership meeting.
  • Supplier showcase and networking session.
  • Business meeting for state directors.

Sunday, Oct. 30

  • General session.
  • Breakout sessions.
  • Business meeting for state directors.
  • Board meeting for 2021-22/2021-23 board members.
  • State and national association committee meeting.
  • Supplier Council annual general membership meeting.
  • State director regional meetings.
  • Offsite dinner sponsored by IC Bus.

Monday, Oct. 31
