A 6-year-old was hit and killed by a school bus in Parker County, Texas, on Monday. The Brock Independent School District confirmed the reports by local media on Monday evening. CBS Dallas-Fort Worth reported the student was struck after getting off the bus.

A Texas Department of Public Safety investigation indicated the bus stopped and off-loaded several students. As it began moving, the girl was hit and killed. The school district reported no other students were injured.

"There are really no words to describe the sadness that is felt across Brock ISD today. Our hearts remain shattered at the loss of a Brock Eagle yesterday afternoon," read a post on the school district's facebook account. "We continue to lift this family, and their loved ones up in our thoughts and prayers."

The school district provided crisis counselors yesterday for students who needed them, as well as a prayer vigil last night.

It's unclear whether any charges will be filed against the bus driver.
