Blue Bird exhibits at Chinese bus and truck expo
The company displays its 2012 Vision school bus at the 2012 China Bus, Truck and Component Expo in Beijing this week. In February, Blue Bird participated in the first China International School Bus Development Forum and Exhibition.

Blue Bird Corp. is exhibiting at the China Bus, Truck and Component Expo in Beijing through this Friday.
On display in the company's booth is a 2012 Blue Bird Vision school bus. Company officials said the bus meets Chinese safety specifications, and it can be customized to various body lengths to accommodate passenger capacity needs.
In addition, Blue Bird offers a wide range of configurations and options to fit the Chinese market, including wireless Internet, geo-fencing, air conditioning, seat belts and special-needs lifts.
As SBFpreviously reported, Blue Bird executives participated in the first China International School Bus Development Forum and Exhibition in February. While there, company officials met with key central and provincial government officials to outline the fundamentals of the safe American school bus transportation system.
This week, Phil Horlock, president and CEO of Blue Bird, said the company was excited to be back in China to attend the expo.
"We learned a lot about the Chinese school bus market from our previous February visit and were grateful for the extended hospitality from the Chinese community," Horlock added. “We have listened to the Chinese citizens outline their needs for a safe school transportation system and have been working on a product that will meet and exceed the needs of the people while providing Blue Bird’s signature safety, reliability and durability.”
He also said that Blue Bird is still exploring potential partnerships for the Chinese market, and while the company has not yet signed any agreements, officials are looking at all of the options and will make an announcement when it occurs.
