Hoekstra Transportation celebrates 85-year anniversary
The Michigan-based company has been a dealer for Thomas Built Buses since 1980, and it also provides new and used school, child care and commercial vehicles. Officials say this year also represents a new beginning of growth and opportunity for the company.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — School bus dealership Hoekstra Transportation is celebrating a milestone this year: its 85th anniversary.
The company, which has been a dealer for Thomas Built Buses since 1980, also provides new and used school, child care and commercial vehicles.
Officials said Hoekstra Transportation is not just celebrating a prestigious business milestone this year, it also represents a new beginning of growth and opportunity.
“Here at Hoekstra Transportation, we are truly committed to our core business, which is providing safe, reliable school transportation, and we continue to make every effort to be the company our customers want to do business with,” President Mark Hoekstra said. “Our desire going forward is to expand and evolve our current offerings to provide innovative transportation solutions for our current and potential customers. Although we are thrilled to be celebrating our 85th anniversary, we really see this time as an opportunity for ourselves and our customers to grow and develop … and that is truly exciting!”
Hoekstra Transportation has locations in Grand Rapids and Troy, and it is part of the Hoekstra family of companies. Hoekstra Companies includes Hoekstra Truck Equipment, a commercial truck equipment supplier, Western snowplow dealer and Gravely commercial landscape equipment dealer. It also includes Hoekstra Specialty Vehicles, a sales and service dealership for Freightliner Sprinter Vans.
