LATHAM, N.Y. — The New York School Bus Contractors Association (NYSBCA) recently elected Michael “Mike” Martucci as its new president.

Martucci has spent the last two years as the association’s vice president and has served on the board of directors since 2010. As the owner and founding partner of Quality Bus Service LLC, Martucci brings an astute knowledge of school transportation operations, marketing and finance to the post and will serve as president for the next two years, NYSBCA officials said.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be named president of the New York School Bus Contractors Association. Our mission to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective pupil transportation services for school districts is one I take very seriously,” Martucci said. “I look forward to spreading the message about the benefits of private pupil transportation, along with the need for improving our school bus safety laws throughout the state and the entire school transportation industry.”

Martucci started Quality Bus Service right after graduating from Marist College in 2007 with one bus and himself as the company’s first bus driver. Today, Quality Bus Service has more than 250 buses in its fleet and more than 400 employees at three locations.

“Mike Martucci’s passion for the industry is unparalleled, and his insight and energy will be instrumental in propelling the New York School Bus Contractors Association into the future,” said Bob Pape, the association’s past president.

Martucci is also active within his community and sits on the board of directors for the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan.

“The single most important thing we do as school bus contractors is provide a safe ride to and from school for over 1 million children every day,” Martucci said. “I’m extremely proud of our industry’s overall safety record and look forward to working with the governor’s office and the legislature to strengthen the school transportation industry.”
