QUEEN ANNE’S COUNTY, Md. — A school bus driver here was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) on Tuesday, police said.
At 2 p.m. on Tuesday, two motorists called 911 to report erratic driving behavior by a school bus driver near Kent Narrows, according to Maryland State Police. State troopers were dispatched to the area, and they observed the bus as it traveled along a highway.
Maryland State Police said that the troopers saw the school bus driver commit “numerous traffic violations,” and they pulled the bus over.
Police identified the school bus driver as Dale Clark, 54, of Chester, Maryland. He was the only occupant of the bus, and police said they believe he was driving for Queen Anne’s County Public Schools.
According to Maryland State Police, Clark failed a standardized field sobriety test. He was arrested without incident and charged with DUI and related traffic charges.
Police said that Queen Anne’s County Public Schools was contacted and sent a replacement driver to pick up the school bus from the scene.
