MOJAVE, Calif. — A student’s quick actions may have saved her school bus driver’s life after she showed signs of distress behind the wheel, ABC News reports.
Fourth-grade student and child pageant queen Addison Hutchinson, 9, noticed something was wrong with her school bus driver when they got to the last bus stop, which was Hutchinson’s stop, according to the news source. Hutchinson told ABC News that she saw that her bus driver was hunched over the wheel and squeezing it, and was sweating.
Hutchinson went into her house, contacted her mother using FaceTime on her mother’s iPad, and her mother instructed her to call 911. Hutchinson called 911 and calmly answered the dispatcher’s questions, and provided the intersection where they were located. After making the call, she ran back to stay with her bus driver until the paramedics arrived, the news source reports.
The bus driver is now recovering, according to ABC News.
