Student shocked with stun gun after misbehaving on school bus

A freshman student of Garinger High School in North Carolina was allegedly “causing problems on the bus” when a school resource officer tried to talk the student down and then restrained him before using his stun gun. Police said the officer shocked the student after he cursed at the officer and tried to punch him.

Out-of-control car kills 15-year-old at school bus stop

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the car was traveling too fast for conditions, and the driver lost control. The vehicle veered off of the road, fatally struck a teenager who was waiting for a school bus, struck a mailbox and then overturned.

Jordan School District brought back a program that trains elementary school students in school bus safety basics after a 10-year-old student was fatally struck by a bus after getting off another bus in May. The district had ended the program in 2009 when it split.

Driver in runaway bus case pleads guilty

A former school bus driver in Maryland whose unattended bus rolled into a small child in April pleads guilty to reckless endangerment and other charges. Prosecutors are asking that 61-year-old Arturo Harris be sentenced to 15 years, suspend all but 30 days, and three years of supervised probation.

A fire at Central High School in Elkhart, Indiana, burned the buses on Tuesday, leaving only one potentially salvageable, according to Elkhart Community Schools. A district official says surveillance video shows two people in the area of the buses around the time of the fire.

Woman arrested for attacking 72-year-old school bus driver

Precious Jackson boards the bus and confronts the driver, refuses to leave the bus, and strikes the driver with both open hands and closed fists, according to a police report. She is arrested on charges of battery on a person over 65, battery on a school district employee and trespassing. Her mother says she was going to talk to the driver about her brothers being able to sit together on the bus.
