Tyler Technologies has launched Tyler Onboard, an integration platform as a service (iPaaS) that is designed to join applications and data in the K-12 transportation space.
The supplier unveiled the new platform on Wednesday during the company’s annual Tyler Connect user conference, conducted virtually only this year, according to a news release from the technology supplier.
The Tyler Onboard program can improve integration between third-party technology solutions in student transportation. With the platform, school districts can exchange data efficiently, safely, and securely between transportation solution providers.
“Realizing the benefits of school bus internet of things (IoT) requires extensive integration, and that’s where Tyler Onboard comes in,” said Ted Thien, vice president and general manager of Tyler’s student transportation group, in the news release. “While district leaders are busy ensuring the safe transportation of students, Tyler Onboard is working in the background to aggregate data from multiple sources, including GPS, timekeeping, student information systems, fleet management, and more.”
Tyler Onboard is designed to offer these benefits for K-12 districts:
• Simplicity. Once a transportation solution provider connects its solutions to Tyler Onboard, its data will be readily available to those who need it.
• Enhanced security. Tyler Onboard utilizes end-to-end security measures with multi-factor authentication for all data transactions and API requests to help ensure data is only accessed by approved parties.
• Redundancy. Tyler Onboard has access to computing and storage resources whenever they are needed. It leverages a scalable, reliable, and secure global computing infrastructure that ensures data is readily available.
ByteCurve, a member of the Tyler Onboard partner network, is already experiencing benefits of the solution in aggregating data efficiently and securely, according to Tyler Technologies.
“Tyler Onboard and its API framework, which has been offered to vendors like us, is a lifeline for our companies to do the required innovation and to bring integrated products to the market so that customers have one single view for data coming from different sources and use them to improve their goals and manage their operation,” said GP Singh, CEO of ByteCurve.
Tyler Technologies serves more than 2,000 school districts nationwide.
