Last week, Tyler Technologies, Inc. announced several changes to its executive leadership team.
The software company has appointed new chief marketing and chief legal officers, and added a new chief administrative officer and chief client officer.
Chief Marketing Officer Samantha Crosby plans to retire in June 2025. She will transition to senior marketing advisor until then. In her place steps Arik Flanders, who has been promoted to the position. Flanders joined Tyler in October 2023 as vice president of Marketing Shared Services. Before joining Tyler, Flanders spent 14 years in progressively responsible global management roles with Texas Instruments.
Abby Diaz, Tyler’s current chief legal officer, has been elevated to the newly created position of chief administrative officer. The company said this will support Tyler’s long-term growth and enable an integrated approach to governance, compliance, and communications. Diaz will remain as Tyler’s corporate secretary.
Bill Van Asselt has been promoted to chief legal officer and assumes direct leadership of the legal team. Van Asselt joined Tyler through the acquisition of NIC, Inc., in 2021, where he worked for nearly 11 years. Prior to that, he practiced law at Lathrop & Gage LLP in Kansas City, Missouri. Since joining Tyler, Van Asselt has served as deputy chief legal officer.
Andrew Kahl also joined the company as its first chief client officer, responsible for enhancing the experience of Tyler’s public sector clients from more than 13,000 locations. Prior to joining Tyler, Kahl served as CEO and board member of BackBox Software. Prior to that, he served as chief customer officer at SailPoint and as vice president of customer success delivery at NetApp, and co-founded Credant Technologies.
“These announcements mark milestones for some and, together, reflect our commitment to the long-term growth of our business and our people as we focus on continuous innovation and collaboration to best serve our Tyler clients and team members,” said Lynn Moore, president and CEO.
