Synovia, Everyday Solutions merge to form new company
Officials say that the company, Synovia Solutions, will offer a cost-effective, broad set of solutions to automate school transportation management for K-12 organizations, including school districts and private school bus companies serving school districts. The products will include such features as real-time GPS tracking with key performance indicators and integration with route planning, driver and rider attendance applications, and parent notification systems.
Synovia LLC and Everyday Solutions Inc. announced on Monday a definitive agreement to merge and operate as a new entity called Synovia Solutions.
Officials said Synovia Solutions will offer a cost-effective, broad set of GPS-driven solutions to automate school transportation management for K-12 organizations, including school districts that own and manage their own vehicles and independent companies that provide transportation services to school districts.
The combined companies currently streamline the operations of approximately 60,000 school buses and school services across North America. Additionally, officials said the merger provides Synovia Solutions with a substantial technology platform to begin servicing additional fleet management customer segments, both municipal and private.
The company will be headquartered in Indianapolis.
“The merger is expected to provide synergies in both product development and distribution by leveraging innovations formulated within each company,” said Jon King, CEO of Synovia Solutions (formerly CEO of Synovia). “By combining products, resources and talent, we will provide electronic school transportation management for the K-12 marketplace with a comprehensive set of solutions that is unmatched in the industry.”
Synovia Solutions will leverage the best attributes of each company to create next generation electronic school transportation management solutions. These solutions offer:
• Real-time GPS tracking with key performance indicators and tight integration with route planning
• Driver and rider attendance applications
• Pre- and post-trip inspections
• Engine diagnostics
• Bus navigation
• Parent notification systems to reduce the stress of bus stop logistics
“This merger accelerates our mission to transform the management of fleet operations for K-12 organizations so that the savings from operations can be applied to student achievement initiatives,” said Don Wallroth, Synovia Solutions’ chairman (formerly president and CEO of Everyday Solutions). “Synovia Solutions enables school operators to do more with less and extend K-12 transportation budgets by 10 to 15% annually.”
Officials said Synovia Solutions intends to grow its business by selling advanced applications to the current combined customers, acquiring new customers and upgrading schools’ legacy systems with limited capabilities to a broader, more complete set of enterprise solutions.
Engineering resources are being allocated to develop the combined technology platform, which will provide the company with the ability to apply its core capabilities to address the needs of other private and municipal customer segments.
“Synovia Solutions is excited to have financial backing from Fontinalis Partners, a strategic investment firm focused exclusively on technology companies that are redefining next generation mobility,” King said.
“We are very excited about the combination of these powerful technology platforms and about the capabilities of this motivated management team,” said Bill Ford, a founding partner at Fontinalis and the executive chairman of Ford Motor Co.
