BELTON, Mo. — Safe Fleet and its brands are kicking off the company’s United to End Bullying (UEB) 2019 Grant Program.

The grant application process began on Feb. 1 and closes on March 31. Grants are available to school communities, transportation teams, and nonprofit organizations working with students in Canada and the U.S. This year, the company has extended the grant program to student leadership teams that include a teacher or a counselor.

The program will award a total of $50,000 for anti-bullying education, kindness initiatives, and social-emotional learning to teach empathy and inspire resilience in students; increase school bus safety; and end bullying.

The UEB program is the social campaign of Safe Fleet, a provider of safety solutions for fleet vehicles.

In 2018, the company received 158 applications and selected 68 winners for a total of $50,000 in grants.

“Success rates increase when schools involve students in the brainstorming and planning of a bullying prevention or kindness initiative,” said Lori Jetha, Safe Fleet’s vice president of marketing. “Student-led learning empowers students as leaders, increases participation, and engages peers with amplified cooperation and interest.”

The official online application, along with a working PDF file, and the rules and regulations can be found here. Additionally, the United to End Bullying blog features articles about previous grant winners to inspire program ideas.
