Safe Fleet acquires Hadley’s bus mirror product line
This is the fifth acquisition for Safe Fleet, which formed in 2013. With the deal, Hadley joins Specialty Manufacturing, Transpec, Pretoria and Seon.
BELTON, Mo. — Safe Fleet has acquired the mirror product line for buses, shuttles and coaches from Elkhart, Indiana-based Hadley.
“This acquisition supports our vision to build the leading global provider of safety solutions for fleet vehicles,” said John R. Knox, president and CEO of Safe Fleet. “The combination of Hadley with Specialty Manufacturing, Transpec, Pretoria and Seon, establishes Safe Fleet as the leading supplier of specialty safety components for transit buses.”
“Additionally, Safe Fleet is well positioned to offer our full product line of mirrors, hatches, lighting, interiors and video to the school bus, motorcoach, RV, shuttle bus, emergency and military vehicle markets,” Knox added.
“We are very proud of the team and products produced in Elkhart. Safe Fleet is an excellent home for the Hadley transit mirror business,” said Thomas Bronz, president and CEO of Hadley. “The transit mirror operation is a vibrant business with strong management and great opportunities.”
The Hadley acquisition is the fifth for Safe Fleet, which was formed in September 2013 when ROM Corp. and SMI Corp. merged.
The Hadley mirror business will remain in Elkhart, Indiana, but will relocate from the Hadley site to its own production facility over the next few months. The management, engineering, customer service, administrative and production personnel of the Hadley mirror business will remain with the business and transition to Safe Fleet.
Chris Dutton and Michaele Dutton will continue to lead the Hadley mirror business and will report to Mike Hagan, vice president of Safe Fleet bus and rail.
Financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
