Photojournalist-turned-bus driver earns Ph.D. at seminary
To make ends meet while attending seminary, Gabriel Tait began working as a school bus driver for Jessamine County (Ky.) Schools. He tells a newspaper that he has found much meaning in that job, taking the opportunity to inspire his passengers to strive for their goals and sharing stories from his mission trips.
WILMORE, Ky. — Gabriel Tait had a lucrative career as a photojournalist for major newspapers, but he gave it up to attend seminary, working as a school bus driver along the way, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.
As part of his studies, Tait, who graduated with a Ph.D. from Asbury Theological Seminary on Saturday, worked on a project to enable people being helped by missionary work to take their own photography.
To make ends meet while he attended seminary, Tait began working as a school bus driver for a local district, Jessamine County Schools. He told the Lexington Herald-Leader that he has found much meaning in that job, taking the opportunity to inspire his passengers to strive for their goals and sharing stories from his mission trips.
