CARY, N.C. — Officials for the Wake County Public School System expect bus service for the start of the upcoming school year to run more smoothly than last year thanks to a number of transportation changes that have been made, News Observer reports.

The changes include hiring more bus drivers, developing realistic bus routes, hiring new staff members who will eventually take over the development of routes at the district’s central office and improving how parents can find information about bus service.

According to News Observer, the opening month of the last school year was marked by complaints about students dealing with buses that came very late or didn’t arrive at all.
