Watkins Glen (N.Y.) Central School District will provide transportation for Odessa-Montour (N.Y.) Central School District students in the fall, which is expected to save the latter district about $100,000 for the school year, the Star Gazette reports.

Odessa-Montour previously contracted with private transportation companies but began looking for a more cost-effective alternative, according to the newspaper. The district’s superintendent said that all of its drivers, mechanics and transportation supervisors will be employed through the Watkins Glen district.

The Watkins Glen district will benefit from the agreement as well. Superintendent Tom Phillips told the newspaper that travel for sports teams will be combined when possible, and one bus will be sent to BOCES every day for both districts.
