Massachusetts Association for Pupil Transportation marks 25 years

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — As Massachusetts Association for Pupil Transportation (MAPT) members gather here on Thursday, they will celebrate a milestone: the association's 25th anniversary.
Since it was established in 1989, MAPT has worked to promote safe and efficient school bus service for the state's students. To bring timely information to school districts and school bus operators throughout Massachusetts, MAPT works closely with many state and federal agencies, including the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and its Registry of Motor Vehicles division, the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
MAPT's members represent municipal and regional school departments and school bus operators of all sizes. The association holds several membership meetings, seminars and educational programs throughout the year.
Along with marking the association's 25th anniversary, the agenda for MAPT's June 12 meeting includes updates from state agency officials, a session on new ways to train school bus drivers, and a business meeting. The event will be held at the Marlborough Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel.
