SLATER, Mo. — A 53-year-old man was taken into custody last week after he boarded a Slater Public Schools bus and was speaking incoherently, The Marshall Democrat-News reports.
The man reportedly approached two students who were on the bus, but the students were able to exit the bus, and district staff personnel then boarded the bus to monitor the situation until law enforcement officials arrived.
According to The Marshall Democrat-News, Slater Police Chief Keith Wright said that when he asked the man why he had come to the school, the man said he’d come to take a child. While he was being transported to a county jail, the man continued to speak incoherently.
