The company completes a deal with Jacksonville-based Rivers Bus and RV Sales for the rights. Officials say they plan to expand the capabilities of the former Rivers Bus facility and expand its product line. LBS South will offer a range of training, service and support to customers.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — LBS South has completed a deal with Rivers Bus and RV Sales for certain business assets and the distribution rights for IC Bus units.
“The completion of the deal between Rivers Bus and LBS South is an important milestone for IC Bus customers in Florida,” said Mike Leonard, president of LBS South. “It marks the changing of the guard and sets the stage for LBS South to bring our award-winning customer support and commitment to excellence to our new Florida customers.”
LBS South is owned and operated by the Leonard family, which also runs Leonard Bus Sales in New York.
Officials said LBS South will offer a range of training, service and support to customers by using mobile support vehicles and expanding the capabilities of the former Rivers Bus facility.
The company also has plans to expand its product line, and add a full-service distribution facility and employees to the Florida market.
“IC Bus is pleased that Leonard Bus Sales is expanding operations in Florida,” said John McKinney, president of Navistar Global Bus. “As the recipient of the ‘IC Bus Eastern Region Dealer of the Year’ award in 2011, I am confident that LBS South will continue to excel in providing cost-effective transportation solutions to the market, matched by their unparalleled customer support.”
