IRVING, Texas — Two-way radio supplier JVCKenwood has released two new multi-protocol portable radios: the NX-1200 and NX-1300.
The new radios operate in two digital protocols — NXDN and DMR — and analog, enabling multi-protocol operation and the capability to transition to digital with mixed-mode operation, according to a news release from JVCKenwood. Standard features for the NX-1200 and NX-1300 include a 13-segment, eight-character LCD display, a programmable seven-color LED indicator, and 40-bit ARC4 enhanced encryption in DMR mode, according to the supplier.

“These radios are a natural extension of the NX-Series, offering portables that have features found in our NX-3000 Series radios, making them ideal for industrial settings and as an entry-level radio for organizations transitioning to digital,” said Mark Jasin, executive vice president and general manager for JVCKenwood.
Users can select a basic or keypad variation and all models have a slim profile design and include audio for high-noise environments, a two-pin audio accessory connector, and two programmable side keys, according to the supplier.
