Cobb County School District adopted Synovia Solutions’ Here Comes the Bus app and smart fleet technology on its fleet of approximately 1,000 buses.

MARIETTA, Ga. — A school district here has rolled out an app that will help students and parents keep track of when their bus will arrive.  

Cobb County School District partnered with Synovia Solutions to integrate a suite of digital tools on the district’s approximately 1,000 buses. The tools are designed to improve safety, enhance service, and save the district money.

The district also adopted Synovia’s Here Comes the Bus mobile app and smart fleet technology. The solution is designed to deliver real-time tracking of school bus locations and real-time email and push notification alerts to help students and parents arrive at the bus stop on time.

Launched in 2015 by Indiana-based Synovia Solutions, the free mobile app has more than a million downloads, according to the fleet tracking solutions supplier. The app has earned 4.6 stars and more than 40,000 reviews on the Apple App store.

“The Here Comes the Bus app is an essential tool for parents, students, and school administrators due to its intuitive interface and straightforward approach to connecting buses with parents and students,” said Jon King, CEO of Synovia Solutions. “We’re honored to have earned the trust of Cobb County [School District] and are excited to leverage our portfolio of services to help the district save money and deliver improved customer service.”

The school district said the integration will help its drivers and student riders enjoy a better user experience, according to Synovia Solutions.

“The Here Comes the Bus app is another way we strive to keep parents informed and their children safe. Our students will know exactly when to arrive at the bus stop, and their parents will know when they are stepping off the bus in the afternoon,” said John Adams, the deputy superintendent of human resources and operations for the school district. “The new technology reinforces the truth that our buses truly are the safest way to get students to and from school.”

The school district added that the app can de-stress parents’ mornings and help protect students from harsh winter weather.
