Florida transportation department to fill in for Santa Claus
Every year, the staff members at Lee County Public Schools’ Transportation West try to help out those less fortunate during the holidays.
FORT MYERS, Fla. — Every year, the staff members at Lee County Public Schools’ Transportation West try to help out those less fortunate during the holidays.
This year, given the state of the economy, the department decided to help students who may otherwise not have a happy holiday. To help bring a little joy and happiness to students, the Transportation West staff has put together approximately 850 gift bags and will distribute them at five area elementary schools over a two-day period.
The school bus drivers will take on the role of Santa Claus, complete with costume, as the gifts are delivered.
