Florida District Opens New Transportation and Operations Facility

The School District of Osceola County celebrates an increased ability to serve students as it opened a new Eastern facility to launch for the 2025-26 school year and broke ground on another on the West side for the following year.

The School District of Osceola County is celebrating its population growth with departmental growth for its transportation team.

The Florida district's new transportation and operations facility is on the East side of the county. A ribbon cutting for the facility was held on April 25, 2025, and it will become operational for the 2025-26 school year. The project will bring a maintenance hub designed to better serve its buses operating in the Eastern portion of the county.

It will include:

  • An administrative/fleet maintenance building with over 41,000 square feet housing offices and training space.

  • A refueling and bus wash depot.

  • A bus driver restroom pavilion.

  • 12 school bus maintenance bays equipped with parts, battery, tire, and bulk fluid storage areas.

The district recently broke ground on a similar facility on the West side of the county, slated to open during the 2026-2027 school year.

This will allow Osceola County to service schools, students, and buses from three distinct facilities throughout the school district.

"National news media has recently lauded Osceola County as the fastest-growing community in the country," said Transportation Director Randy Wheeler. "In order to be prepared for that growth, the School District of Osceola County has committed to the construction of two purpose-built transportation facilities to support our school bus operation. We have just opened, and are moving into, what will become the base of operation for our East learning community in St. Cloud, Florida. East Osceola Transportation and Operations (EOTO) is not merely a shiny new building, but a long-term investment in our students, our staff, and the future of Osceola County. By improving the way we manage and maintain our buses, we are ensuring safer, more reliable service for the more than 27,000 learners that we transport daily. By strategically expanding our transportation infrastructure, we’re improving safety, reducing operational costs, and ensuring our buses are maintained to the highest standards to better support our growing community."
