OGDEN, Utah — For the second year in a row, First Student’s Ogden location has achieved a perfect score of 100% on its two Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) fleet inspections for 2017.
UHP conducts annual inspections on school buses each spring and fall. Troopers check all mechanical aspects and safety features to ensure the Ogden location school buses are operating at top condition. First Student also received a perfect score of 100% on its two UHP fleet inspections in 2016.
“Our maintenance standards are among the most stringent in the industry,” said Jared Bond, First Student Ogden location manager. “Receiving a perfect score on our fleet inspections year after year shows the dedication of our team to the families in the Ogden community who rely on us to provide safe, reliable transportation.”
The location uses a fleet of more than 40 buses to transport approximately 2,000 Ogden School District students each school day. It is the only fleet of school buses in the state to be equipped with crossing gates, according to First Student.
Each of the 44,000 buses in the First Student fleet follows a daily, monthly, and annual vehicle maintenance program, according to the company. Additionally, First Student’s drivers use fleet inspection technology to conduct a multi-point inspection at the beginning and end of each route.
