First Student names new region operations manager

First Student names new region operations manager

Mike Shedor will oversee First Student's Kansas and central Missouri territories. He will also coach staff on the school bus contractor's safety policies and training programs.

CINCINNATI — First Student has named Mike Shedor the new region operations manager for its Kansas and central Missouri territories.

In the position, Shedor will manage overall operations and provide counsel to multiple First Student locations throughout the region, including Jefferson City, Kansas City and Columbia in Missouri, and Olathe, Shawnee Mission and Blue Valley in Kansas.

In addition, Shedor will coach staff on all aspects of operations, including the school bus contractor's safety policies and training programs.

"Mike brings a wealth of leadership, management and staff development experience to our team," said Steve Roessler, region vice president for First Student. "His knowledge of managing large teams and motivating staff members will be a benefit to our local teams as they continue to provide safe transportation and outstanding service to the districts we serve."

Previously, Shedor served as field consultant-district manager for 7-Eleven Inc. in Chicago. He also held a number of positions at Hertz Corp.

While at Hertz, Shedor was recognized for leading his teams to high levels of customer service, improving talent acquisition, increasing fleet efficiency and increasing revenue and market share.

Shedor holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing with a minor in finance from DePaul University in Chicago. He also holds an MBA from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Ill.
