DARBY BOROUGH, Pa. — A substitute school bus driver was arrested on Monday after he allegedly ordered passengers off the bus, blocks away from their assigned stops, Daily Times reports.
Police were first notified of the situation when they received a call from the mother of one of the students. The woman told police that she went to her son’s bus stop to pick him up, but when the bus arrived, only a handful of students disembarked. When the woman asked the other students about her son, they told her that the bus driver, Wesner Laventure, had forced a number of children off the bus at different locations, according to Darby Borough Police Chief Robert Smythe.
