Bree Allen will serve as president of the New York School Bus Contractors Association for the next two years. She is seen here at the association’s annual convention, held Oct. 13 to 15 in Lake George, New York.

Bree Allen has been elected president of the New York School Bus Contractors Association (NYSBCA).

Allen is regional manager of Ethan Allen Transportation, which provides school transportation services for the Kingston (N.Y.) City School District.

For the past two years, Allen served as NYSBCA’s vice president, and she has been on the board of directors since 2005. She will serve as president of the association for the next two years, working to "continue our mission to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective student transportation services throughout New York state,” Allen said.

“I look forward to helping improve our school bus safety laws, further spreading our message about the benefits of private pupil transportation, and having a positive impact on the entire school transportation industry,” she added.

Allen grew up in her family’s transportation business, Ethan Allen Enterprises, which was founded by her grandfather Ethan more than 60 years ago.

After spending several years practicing law in Boston, Bree Allen returned to the family business in 2004 and took on a leadership role. In 2013, The Trans Group acquired Ethan Allen, and Allen stayed on as regional manager.

Mike Martucci, past president of NYSBCA, said that Allen's “unique perspective, skills, experience, and work ethic are all tremendous assets, and I have no doubt she will exceed all expectations in propelling the school transportation industry forward throughout New York state and the rest of the country.”
