Arrests made in fatal crash involving school buses
Two men transporting buses to Mexico are taken into custody on Wednesday and face various charges, including involuntary manslaughter. According to the Kansas State Patrol, a school bus being towed by another bus got a flat tire, so the driver detached the buses and they sat in the roadway, leading to an accident that killed a motorist.
WICHITA, Kan. — One person was killed early Wednesday morning due to a crash involving a towed school bus, KAKE News reports.
According to the Kansas State Patrol, two men were driving school buses that were each towing a school bus. One of the buses being towed got a flat tire, so the driver stopped, disconnected the disabled bus from the one he was driving, and then turned around against traffic to park his bus in front of the disabled one.
The buses sitting in the roadway caused three accidents, including one involving a semi-truck and a car. The driver of the car was later pronounced dead. Troopers told the news outlet that the drivers of the buses were taking the vehicles to Mexico. They have been arrested, and they face various charges, including involuntary manslaughter.
