The school bus company began using GreenRoad’s driver performance service in 2009 and is increasing its use in the fleet based on positive results it has had, officials say. With the service, algorithms monitor driver performance along five key maneuver categories, and if a risky or inefficient event occurs, the driver is given immediate feedback with red, yellow or green LED cues.

Zen-tinel introduces portable stop-arm camera

Officials say up to three cameras installed on the outside of a bus automatically record any vehicle passing the bus while the stop arm is extended, without having to rely on driver activation. The cameras capture images of the vehicle’s front and back license plates, as well as the face of the driver, which can be sent to law enforcement and used to prosecute the violator.
