SBSC launches effort to reduce child fatalities

School Bus Safety Co.’s nationwide initiative is aimed at reducing the number of fatalities in bus-related incidents from an average of 12 per year to zero by focusing resources on four areas: bus drivers, school buses, other motorists and children. As part of the effort, the company releases three new educational programs for kids of all ages.

Maine district takes action to stop bus bullying

When the transportation director for Maine School Administrative District #61 in Bridgton discovers that 50% of bus drivers’ referrals are from bullying incidents, he tasks bus driver/trainer Line Mulcahy and her colleague with developing an anti-bullying campaign. Bus supervisor fired over flap with 7-year-old

The transportation supervisor, riding the bus in the role of an aide, can be seen in a cell phone video pushing the student into the bus window. The 7-year-old boy was reportedly "yelling and screaming and jumping around" and pulled a sweatshirt over the supervisor’s head “with his whole body.”
