The National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPTS) has unveiled a more detailed agenda for the 54th Annual Conference scheduled for Oct. 27-31 in Washington, D.C.

"NASDPTS is excited to present a schedule to our membership that incorporates all of the top issues facing school transportation today," said Ronna Weber, NASDPTS' executive director. "In addition, by meeting in the Washington, D.C., area we are able to meet with each of our federal agency partners and hear more about the top priorities for each agency. We’re looking forward to a great conference!"

The schedule includes:

  • Agency updates from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and more.
  • The 2022 Kansas Loading & Unloading Survey.
  • Association business meetings.
  • Multiple presentations, ranging from alternative transportation and entry-level driver training to safety data trends and challenges to the school bus driver shortage to marijuana and school transportation.
